Wood turned birds
We think wood is the perfect medium for creating these hand turned birds.
The natural grain of some woods can look like wings, and variations in wood colour create interesting shapes and patterns.
The types of wood we use vary with availability of materials. Contact us if you are interested in a particular design or wood type and we can advise what is currently available. We are happy to discuss commissions made to your requirements, or using a piece of wood that is special to you.
Bird sculptures
Our free standing bird sculptures are an original creation by Sward Designs.
Each bird is individually turned on a lathe then hand finished and mounted on driftwood collected from Scottish beaches and loch shores.
Wall hanging Birds
Our wall hanging birds are another original creation by Sward Designs.
Birds are made in the same way as our free standing sculptures. They are then mounted on wood or log slices with a picture hook fixed to the back.

Wading Birds
These wading birds were inspired by a Scandinavian design. They are freestanding on solid black legs, or mounted on pieces of driftwood.
